Inspired by the Taiwan News article we shared in the FB page of Taipei News Network about a Filipino who was looking for his long-lost Taiwanese father, a 19-year old Filipino has approached us to help him find and reconnect with his Taiwanese father as well.
Eric Aque Chang's father, Yuan Hui Chang, also known as Karl Chang, married her mother in her hometown in Zambales on September 26, 2002. His listed address in their marriage license simply shows Taipei, Taiwan as his residence address. His father's parents are listed as Kung Ting Chang (Father-deceased) and Lee A-Kuwi Chang (Mother). He was 55 years old and a divorcee during the time of the wedding while Eric's mother was twenty years old and single.
Eric has only seen his Taiwanese father in pictures since he was barely one year old when his father went back to Taiwan with the promise to facilitate the papers necessary to bring him and his mother to Taiwan. However, they never heard from him again. They were apparently told that Karl had a heart attack and died already. However, recent information suggests that Yuan Hui Chang is still alive, since he was seen in an FB post in Banqiao District on January 25, 2020. A TNN reporter has already sent a DM to the person who posted the photo and we're awaiting a response from said person.
If he is still alive, Mr. Chang will already be 73 years old today. Eric's only wish is to be able to talk to his father to have some closure in his life. If you live or work in Banqiao District or Luzhou District (his last known address) and find any information about the whereabouts of Yuan Hui Chang, please contact Eric Aque Chang via his Facebook page.
